Privacy Policy
BeAnon protects your public identity from other users, but we are not a zero-data or end-to-end encrypted service. We collect and process limited technical, account, chat, safety, moderation, and service data to operate the app, prevent abuse, investigate reports, enforce our Terms, and comply with law. This policy explains what we collect, why, and for how long.
We design our data practices with the following frameworks in mind. This is not a claim of certification or of full compliance with any law; we work toward alignment and review our practices as the app and the law evolve.
Who We Are
Operated by: RR AI Labs Pvt. Ltd., India
Platform: BeAnon (beanon.app). BeAnon is preparing for iOS and Android; official store links will appear when available.
RR AI Labs Pvt. Ltd. determines the purpose and means of processing your personal data and is responsible for the data described in this policy. BeAnon operates as an intermediary platform.
We aim to handle data with India's DPDP Act 2023 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 in mind.
This policy applies to all users of BeAnon worldwide. Sections 22 and 23 describe regional rights that may apply depending on where you live.

BeAnon protects your public identity from other users, but it is not a zero-data or end-to-end encrypted service. We collect limited data to operate, secure, moderate, improve, and legally protect the service. You should not assume that your activity is invisible to BeAnon, our service providers, or lawful authorities.
How BeAnon Works
BeAnon is an anonymous one-to-one chat application built with privacy and data minimisation as core architectural principles, intended exclusively for users aged 18 and above.
No real name, phone number, or email required. Appear as an emoji or wear an AR masquerade mask.
Smart Match Engine connects you based on shared interest tags — not follower counts or identity data.
Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard transport security. BeAnon does not currently offer end-to-end encryption.
We keep only the data we reasonably need to run the service, and retain it no longer than necessary, subject to legal, safety, and operational needs.
Personal Data We Collect
We aim to collect only what is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and maintain BeAnon. Depending on how you use the app, we may collect and process the following categories of data:
- Anonymous account ID / user ID — a randomised identifier created for your account.
- Device-linked identifier — used to associate your account with your device and support service integrity.
- Optional Google account recovery data — only if you choose to enable account recovery.
- Profile details and preferences — such as display details, moods, interests, age range, and gender preference, where collected.
- Chat messages and media — content needed to provide the service, support friend connections and chat continuity, and handle safety and moderation.
- Friend connections and chat state — who you are connected with and the status of your conversations.
- Reports, report evidence, moderation notes, and enforcement records.
- Technical and log data — IP address, device data, app version, OS version, timestamps, logs, and diagnostics.
- Push notification tokens.
- Purchase/subscription status from Apple or Google (we do not directly store your card details).
- Customer support messages you send us.
- Consent and settings records.
Why we process this data
- To operate anonymous chat and matchmaking.
- To preserve chat history where the product requires it, and to support friend connections and chat continuity.
- To provide safety, reporting, and moderation, and to investigate reports.
- To prevent spam, abuse, fraud, underage use, and illegal conduct.
- To enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines and Content Moderation Policy.
- To process subscriptions through Apple/Google and to send notifications.
- To maintain security, reliability, analytics, and diagnostics.
- To comply with valid legal requests.
Face Filters & AR Masks
Instead of a real profile photo, you choose how to appear using one of two privacy-preserving options. Your real face is not required to use BeAnon, and the AR feature is designed not to capture or share it.
Pick any emoji. This becomes your anonymous face. No camera access required. Nothing is stored on our servers.
Activate camera to wear a real-time mask rendered by our AR filter engine. Only the mask is visible to others.
How the AR feature is designed:
- It is designed not to capture, transmit, or store facial images or camera frames on our servers
- It is designed not to extract, store, or share biometric identifiers such as face geometry
- It is designed so that the camera feed is processed on your device
Optional Google Account Linking
BeAnon offers an optional feature to link your Google account as a safeguard — protecting your access if your device is lost. This is purely a recovery tool and is not required.
- Receive a basic authentication token used only to associate your anonymous ID with a new device
- Delete the token immediately when you unlink or delete account
- We do not store your email address
- We do not access your Gmail, contacts, or photos
- We do not use linking for ads or profiling
Premium Upgrades
Optional subscriptions unlock features. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We do not directly handle or store your payment card details.
Data We Aim Not to Collect
By design, BeAnon does not require these to create or use an account, and we aim not to collect them:
This is different from chat content. As explained in Section 09, BeAnon may store and process chat messages and media where necessary to provide the service and for safety, moderation, continuity, legal, backup, and operational purposes.
Consent Framework
All optional features require explicit opt-in (free, specific, informed, unconditional). Examples: AR mask (OS camera prompt), Push Notifications (OS prompt), Interest tags (In-app choice). You can withdraw consent for any of these at any time via settings.
Chat & Message Handling
BeAnon does not currently offer end-to-end encryption. Data is encrypted in transit using standard transport security, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect data we hold, but you should not assume that BeAnon is unable to access message content.
Security. BeAnon uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect data we hold. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Push Notifications
Push notifications are designed to carry only a signal that a message is waiting, and generally do not include message text. Notifications are delivered through Apple and Google push services, which process the notification token and delivery metadata under their own terms.
Abuse Prevention
We may analyse limited activity signals to detect abuse. When you report a user, relevant reported content and context may be preserved for moderation review and retained for as long as reasonably necessary for safety, enforcement, and legal purposes, then deleted or anonymised.
Third-Party Services & Sharing
We share data with service providers and others only as reasonably necessary to operate BeAnon, including:
- Hosting and cloud providers; database and storage providers.
- Analytics and crash-reporting providers.
- Push notification providers.
- Apple and Google app stores and subscription processors (for app distribution and billing when official store listings and paid features become available).
- Customer support and security tools.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use ad networks or data brokers for advertising profiles.
Legal and safety disclosure. BeAnon may disclose information where required by valid legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce our Terms, or comply with law. This may include escalating and disclosing information in cases such as serious harm, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexual exploitation, threats, terrorism, fraud, or other unlawful conduct, to the extent permitted or required by applicable law.

Data Retention & Account Deletion
We aim to retain data only while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and no longer than reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
- Chat data may be retained for continuity, friend connections, safety, moderation, dispute, backup, legal, and operational reasons.
- Reports and enforcement records may be retained longer where needed for safety or legal reasons.
- Technical and log data is retained for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.
- Deleted-account data is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period, unless retention is required for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, dispute, backup, or compliance reasons. Backups may take additional time to rotate and expire.
You can request deletion at any time. See our Data Deletion Policy for how deletion works and its practical limits.
Children's Data
BeAnon is strictly for users aged 18 and above. Underage users are not allowed. Accounts we reasonably suspect belong to minors may be restricted, banned, or deleted, or preserved only where retention is required for safety or legal reasons.
Your Rights as a Data Principal
Request data summary.
Delete your profile data.
File complaints via Officer.
Nominate a successor.
You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and contact our Grievance Officer (Section 21). Because BeAnon is anonymous and device-based, there are practical limits to these rights: we may not be able to locate, verify, or act on a request without enough account or device information to confirm ownership.
This page is for user information and does not limit rights available under applicable law.
Grievance Officer
- Name: Grievance Officer, RR AI Labs Pvt. Ltd.
- Email: grievance@beanon.app
- Response: We aim to acknowledge and resolve grievances within the timeframes required by applicable law.
⚖️ In India, if you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may have the right to escalate your grievance to the relevant appellate body under applicable law.
European Economic Area (EEA), UK & Switzerland
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection law. These can include the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Our servers are located in India. Where your data is transferred internationally, we take steps intended to provide an appropriate level of protection as required by applicable law.
We respond to valid privacy requests as required by applicable law. To make a request, contact privacy@beanon.app. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
California Residents
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under California privacy law. These can include the right to know about, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
To make a request, email privacy@beanon.app or use in-app account deletion. We respond to valid requests as required by applicable law. Because BeAnon is anonymous and device-based, some requests may be subject to practical limits where we cannot verify account ownership.
Data Breach Notification
If a personal data breach affecting your data occurs, we aim to notify the relevant authorities and affected users where required by applicable law, and within the timeframes that law sets.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or regulatory guidance. When we make changes:
- Material changes (new data categories, new purposes, new third-party sharing) will be communicated via an in-app notice at least 30 days before taking effect.
- Minor changes (clarifications, formatting, legal reference updates) will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
- The updated policy will always be available at beanon.app/privacy.html.
- Continued use of BeAnon after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree, you may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account.
